About
Welcome to Lugana, a charming Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of Beckenham, located at 8 Eden Park Ave, Elmers End. At first glance, this independent establishment exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a popular spot among locals and visitors alike.
If you're seeking a dining experience that balances quality food, attentive service, and a welcoming vibe, Lugana is the place to be. Their menu showcases a delightful range of offerings, from classic Italian dishes to exquisite wines. Highlights include generous servings of mushroom risotto, calamari, and a delectable prawn linguine, all crafted with care and high-quality ingredients. Patrons have praised the elegance of the food presentation, with dishes that feel like each plate is a work of art.
Despite the hustle and bustle that often accompanies a busy night, as noted by numerous guests, the staff at Lugana manage to deliver a friendly and attentive service. Catherine Christie, one of our satisfied diners, remarked on the restaurant's vibrant atmosphere and the genuine care the staff put into their culinary creations. It's clear that the establishment doesn't just deliver meals; they craft experiences that linger in your memories.
However, it’s worth noting that small hiccups can sometimes occur; for instance, Sanjay Pappachan was met with slightly soggy courgette fries on his visit. Yet, even this minor oversight didn't overshadow the overall delightful dining experience, especially with the finale—a rich, homemade cheesecake—a sweet note to end any meal on a high.
Lugana is genuinely a gem among the chain restaurants, offering an experience that is personal, satisfying, and imbued with love for Italian cuisine. It’s a restaurant that not only fills your plate but also fills your heart with joy. Whether you’re celebrating an occasion or simply enjoying a meal with friends, Lugana stands ready to welcome you back time and again.

“ I was very impressed by this restaurant , we went on a Friday night for a 60th birthday. The food was fabulous, great atmosphere and it was busy all evening. It was so nice to go to an independent restaurant, everything seems to be chains these days. And you can tell the staff really care about their food and the service they provide. We will definitely be going back. ”
“ Excellent New Year’s Eve lunch with the family. Amazing food at reasonable prices - calamari, aubergine, ravioli, prawn linguine and banoffee. Kids menu was also great value. Very friendly and attentive staff. Glad we asked to sit in the main area instead of the front outdoor bit as atmosphere was much nicer than sitting alone! ”
“ Had a very pleasant evening, some of the best food around the area. Parking can be a bit problematic, but do-able. They were kind enough to fit us in last minute on a busy Saturday night, most appreciated. Will go again ”
“ All locals love Lugana! Very good food (best mushroom risotto I ever had) plus super friendly atmosphere making one feel at home each time. Italian is usually not my first choice when it comes to food as I prefer more adventurous choice, but I keep returning to Lugana- that's how good it is. Also approved by Greek, French and Polish friends who tend to be quite fussy when it comes to cuisines :D ”
“ Had a meal here recently to celebrate a birthday with friends and had a pleasant experience. Elegant interiors and friendly staff greeted us and we were led to our table. It was a bit busy but we didn't feel rushed or that the place was bursting. Good wine, delicious hot chocolate and since it was a Sunday afternoon, we decided to get the seafood starter lamb and seafood roast. The food was delicious and elegantly plated and looked like art. The courgette fries were a bit disappointing though as they were soggy and the coating had all vanished so it felt like we were having raw courgette slices. That tiny blip aside, the afternoon went perfect and the cheesecake at the end made it even more memorable. ”
“ Very nice place to visit ... Staff are a friendly bunch that don't rush you. Food is tasty with a good portion size. Would definitely revisit ... ”
“ Fabulous lunch here. We had the set course Sunday lunch menu. Had starter and main course (didn’t have room for a dessert). Very good size portions and tasted delicious too. Thoroughly recommend ”
“ Lugana combines a home-like, welcoming atmosphere with some delicious and, dare I say, relatively sophisticated food. Our highlight was the monkfish with brandy cream sauce and porcini. We will come back! ”
